The Adventure At A Glance
A quick look at some of the activities that shape this adventure.
Sample Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Amman
Touch down in Jordan’s capital where East meets West in beautiful collision. Your representative welcomes you at the airport for transfer to the Toledo Hotel or similar, where you can shake off travel fatigue. Depending on arrival time, optional tour or walk through Amman’s vibrant streets where Roman ruins sit alongside modern cafes, where the smell of cardamom coffee and fresh flatbread drifts from every corner. Welcome dinner and tour briefing set the stage for the adventure ahead…this is just the beginning.
Day 2
Dead Sea Zarqaa Maien Trail
Early breakfast before the drive to the Dead Sea, Earth’s lowest point where physics plays tricks and buoyancy requires zero effort. Take the Blue Trail — a moderate trek of about 3.5 kilometers with three rappels at 3, 28, and 35 meters that demand focus and courage. After your hike, check into the Dead Sea spa hotel where you’ll spend the rest of the day relaxing and recharging. Float effortlessly in waters so salt-dense they sting any cut you didn’t know you had, mud-mask yourself in mineral-rich clay, and watch sunset paint the mountains across in Israel and Palestine in shades of amber and rose.
Day 3
Qbour Whaidat to Little Petra
After breakfast, drive to Petra for your 13-kilometer hike from Qbour Whaidat to Little Petra. The trail challenges with its length and terrain — fields that once grew grapes for Nabataean wine, then the oldest wine press you’ve ever seen, finally arriving at camp near Baidah. Tonight’s Bedouin camp dinner tastes better because you walked for it, and sleep comes easily under stars that crowd the sky in impossible numbers.
Day 4
Petra Back Trail Hike
Start hiking from camp toward Petra itself, entering through “The Back Door” like locals and ancient traders rather than the crowded main entrance. Follow the ancient Nabataean route, which looks like 14 kilometers of switchbacks and stone steps carved directly into living rock, viewing “The Monastery,” “The Treasury,” and the Siq from perspectives tourists crammed into the main route will never experience. Check into Wadi Mousa Nomads Hotel, where hot showers feel like absolute luxury and real beds seem almost too soft after camping.
Day 5
Petra Free Day
A gift of unstructured time in one of the world’s great wonders. Explore the site alone or with your guide, moving at whatever pace feels right. Climb to the High Place of Sacrifice where priests once made offerings to Nabataean gods. Find quiet corners away from crowds where you can sit and simply absorb what humans created here over 2,000 years ago. Optional evening drive to Wadi Rum for 2-3 hours, or stay in Petra soaking in the atmosphere.
Day 6
Jabal Rum Ascent - Day One
Early morning departure at 8am for your biggest adventure: climbing Jabal Rum over two days. This mountain is recognized as a hunting ground for wild plants and animals beloved by the nomads, considered a great source of wild herbs used in tea infusions and medical purposes. The approach alone covers 10 square kilometers of relatively flat terrain without a clear peak; you’re climbing geology rather than a single summit. Begin the multi-pitch climb with your guide, technical sections requiring focus and trust in your gear and abilities. Camp wild tonight at elevation, cooking food on portable stoves while daylight fades and stars emerge one by one until the entire sky glows.
Day 7
Jabal Rum Summit & Descent
After breakfast and coffee prepared at camp, continue your climb toward the summit of Jabal Rum. From the top, take in the vast desert landscape before beginning your descent via the Hammad Route. The descent takes a minimum of four hours and includes seven rappels ranging from 10 to 45 meters (33–148 feet), along with narrow, maze-like passages through the rock. Finish in the Shalaleh area before transferring to your hotel in Aqaba for a well-earned shower, cold drink, and time to relax after the climb.
Day 8
Aqaba Red Sea Adventure
Spend the morning exploring Aqaba before heading out for a full-day snorkeling trip on the Red Sea. Board your boat and spend the day discovering colorful coral reefs, abundant marine life, and the remarkably clear waters for which the Red Sea is known. Enjoy lunch onboard with views across the surrounding coastline, with plenty of time for snorkeling and relaxing on the water. Return to Aqaba in the afternoon before beginning the approximately four-hour drive to Amman, where you’ll check in at your hotel for the evening.
Day 9
Departure Day
Final breakfast with Jordan’s flavors still on your tongue and its landscapes burned into memory. Transfer to the airport with sand still somehow in your shoes, chalk dust probably under your fingernails, and stories that will take years to fully process. You arrived as a visitor — you leave transformed.
